4 different hills - 16 hours

4 hills

many hours -many more kilometers

Every year hundreds of people accept the challenge to hike four different hills of Carinthia. This tramp always takes place two weeks after Easter, so the date and weather conditions always change. For your information the names of the highlands are :

Magdalensberg(Helenberg or Hel Berg) , Ulrichsberg, Veitsberg and Lorenzberg
.

This hike is not just a  normal one- there is a deeper meaning behind it. As I mentioned above, there are four hills and they stand for our four different seasons - namely spring, summer, fall and winter. It is no accident that these hills are kind of holy mountains- every one of them; is said;  is in possession of a mystical power. This hike is a tradition that goes back more than thousand years and is not only combined with our four seasons but with God as well.

I could not make it this year as I had to work but some friends and family members tried to meet this challenge. I hope that next year I will be able to attend this marsh .

tutoring

The life of a tutor

“In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.”
Phil Collins

This quote says it all, I guess. For quite some time I have been trying myself as a tutor. There were and still are  three main reasons why I chose this type of part-time job. First of all, being a teacher has always been something interesting for me. Working with children, teenager and young adults is exciting and pretty much fulfilling. Secondly, I can learn a lot of things in explaining and teaching and revising grammar topics. Last but not least, I love to help, I love to explain in an easy and understandable way, I love the moment when 'my students' are like: " oh ok, NOW I UNDERSTAND!!"

I think, that at some point I will be a teacher- then when I have travelled a lot, made exciting experiences as an interpreter and learned life-lessons I can teach my students.
